Consumer Reports Canada (subscription required) has rated the best performance winter tires for 2010 in it’s November issue. The 3 recommended models are the Nokian, the Hankook and the Michelin:

How can a all season tire be the #1 winter tire ? i live in the country and need a really good tire but they say i should make sure to have a winter tire and not an all season, I know it has the snowflake but it still reamains a all season

Nokian WRG2 arent all season, they are all-weather tires. they are a legsal winter tire you use year round. they are amazing and put “pure winter” tires to shame. get a set you wont regret it!
