2010 Genesis Coupe pricing announced at Canadian International Auto Show

TORONTO, Feb. 11 /CNW/ – Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. took the wraps off the
2010 Genesis Coupe today at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto,
and took the opportunity to announce pricing for the brand-new model. Starting
at $24,495, Hyundai’s first-ever rear wheel drive sports car is priced well
below the starting price of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Altima Coupe and Infiniti
G37.
“Now is the time to offer smart pricing to Canadian consumers,” said John
Vernile, vice president, sales and marketing, Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. “The
Genesis Coupe is a true performance car by nature of its rear wheel drive
powertrains and phenomenal handling characteristics, all at a cost that’s very
accessible to consumers. The Coupe pounds the pavement in style!”
The Genesis Coupe will be available with two engine options: a 2.0-litre
turbocharged in-line four cylinder with 210 horsepower, and a powerful V6
producing 306 horsepower. Like the Genesis sedan, the Genesis Coupe is
designed to run on regular fuel to help keep costs down at the pump. With
standard features such as Bluetooth(TM), 18-inch alloy wheels, Electronic
Stability Control, and six air bags, the Genesis Coupe is well-stocked at the
starting trim.
“We offer a wide array of luxurious equipment that far exceeds any
competitive offerings at a similar price,” continued Vernile. “At Hyundai,
you’re able to make your dollar go farther to get everything you want. We
think that’s the smart way to approach the market. Our value story will
certainly resonate with consumers right now.”

Pricing and Packaging

Genesis Coupe comes with available luxury and performance technologies
such as HID headlights, a proximity key with push button start, a Brembo(R)
brake package, Torsen(R)-type limited slip differential, 19-inch alloy wheels,
GT-calibrated suspension with front strut tower bar, and heated leather seats.
The 2010 Genesis Coupe will be offered in two distinct trim levels, the
2.0T and the 3.8.

2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0T

The Genesis Coupe 2.0T is powered by a 2.0-litre in-line four cylinder
Turbocharger with a front-mounted intercooler for increased engine efficiency
and power. A six-speed manual transmission is offered as standard equipment,
along with steering wheel-mounted Bluetooth, audio and cruise controls;
18-inch alloy wheels; six airbags; Electronic Stability Control (ESC); an
antilock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD);
fog lights; metal grain interior trim; USB and auxiliary audio outlets;
automatic light control; a trip computer; a leather-wrapped steering wheel and
gear shift knob; power and heated exterior mirrors; and an AM/FM/XM/CD/MP3
stereo system with six speakers.
The 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0T can be equipped with an optional Premium
Package which includes such high-demand features as a power sunroof, heated
leather seats, and an Infinity AM/FM/XM six-disc CD changer and MP3 stereo
with 10 speakers.
The GT Package will impress the performance-oriented consumer. This trim
comes with a six-speed manual transmission and includes a Brembo braking
system, Torsen-type limited slip differential, unique black leather seats with
premium red cloth inserts, 19-inch alloy wheels and HID headlamps.
All of the 2.0T trims are available with an optional five-speed automatic
transmission with paddle shifters, with the exception of the GT.

2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8

The Genesis Coupe 3.8 features an advanced all-aluminum
naturally-aspirated V6 engine displacing an impressive 306 horsepower (regular
fuel), coupled with a six-speed manual transmission and a standard Torsen-type
limited slip rear differential. Features include all of the equipment provided
on the Genesis 2.0T Premium, plus mirror-mounted turn signals, chrome lower
fascia slats, HID headlights with autolevelling, a proximity key with push
button start, a power driver’s seat, auto-dimming rear view mirror with
Homelink(TM) and a compass, and premium door scuff plates.
The 2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8 can also be equipped with an optional GT
Package. The 3.8 GT Package builds off the 3.8 base and offers the same
options as the 2.0T GT, however the seating is black leather rather than black
with red inserts.
All 3.8 models may be equipped with a ZF six-speed automatic transmission
with paddle-shifters.
