HUMMER Increases Model Range and Affordability for 2009
New H3T adds pick-up utility and ushers in new, reduced cross-line pricing for HUMMER
Oshawa, Ontario (Friday, September 26, 2008). For those who desire the ultimate in off-road capability, HUMMER’s iconic range of vehicles is the answer. For 2009, the HUMMER lineup expands with the all-new H3T truck, which is based on the popular H3, but features a five-passenger crew cab and a separate 1.5 metre-long pickup cargo bed, sized to carry a wide range of popular outdoor necessities.
With it’s unique footprint, the H3T creates its own niche in the market. It is the only midsize truck to come standard with full-time four-wheel drive, 32-inch tires and functional skid shields and the only one to offer front and rear locking differentials, as well as 33-inch tires. The V-8-powered H3T Alpha can tow up to 2,676 kg (5,900 pounds). As well, one of the industry’s largest portfolios of accessories complements the H3T’s bed, offering different cargo management options to suit all lifestyle interests.
Like all HUMMER models, the new H3T delivers exceptional off-road capability, top-tier safety technologies and a premium interior that is as functional as it is comfortable. For 2009, all H3 models receive Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity and hill start assist. Added options include a new rear camera system display and front locking differential.
The H3’s capability has been lauded by customers and critics alike. The ‘08 H3 Alpha was named Four Wheeler of the Year by Four Wheeler magazine and was recognized as Best in Class in the Hardcore 4×4 category by Truck Trend. And that was before the new 2009 pricing, which puts the H3 at a starting MSRP of just $34,995 and the H3T at $33,245. Even the powerful H3T Alpha model can be had for just $39,245. Never before has this degree of capability been this affordable in Canada.
The flagship of the HUMMER lineup continues to be the rugged yet refined H2, which continues its race-winning performance with first- and second-place wins in its first two races in ‘08 for the stock-class H2 fielded by Rod Hall Racing’s Team. And now, the H2 SUV models also carry a winning price, starting at a new MSRP of just $64,295.
