
Manabu Nishimae appointed President and Chief Executive Officer for Honda Canada
TORONTO, April 28 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc. has announced the arrival in
Canada of its new President and CEO, Mr. Manabu Nishimae. He replaces Mr.
Hiroshi Kobayashi who has been appointed Deputy Chief Operating Officer and
General Manager of Regional Sales Operations for the Japanese domestic market.
Mr. Nishimae, who has previously worked in Canada for Honda Canada’s
Motorcycle Division in the late 1980’s, was most recently the Deputy Chief
Operating Officer and General Manager of Regional Sales Operations (Japan)
“I am happy to be back in Canada,” said Manabu Nishimae, President and
CEO of Honda Canada Inc. “I’m very pleased to see the growth that Honda has
made in the Canadian market since my previous assignment here. When I last
worked in Canada, the Acura Division was just being launched and Honda was
selling a limited range of motorcycles, cars and power equipment. The company
has grown dramatically since then. The change is truly remarkable.
“I am looking forward to bringing my years of experience in Canada, the
United States and Japan to ensure the continued satisfaction of our many Honda
and Acura customers here in Canada.”
A graduate of Japan’s Keio University with a degree in Economics, Mr.
Nishimae started with Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Tokyo, in 1977.
Mr. Nishimae was transferred in 1999 to American Honda Motor Co., Inc. as
Vice President of Auto Division.
In 2002, he became the Chief Operating Officer of Honda’s Power Product
Operations and was named a Director of Honda Motor Co Ltd.
Mr. Nishimae became the Deputy Chief Operating Officer and General
Manager of Automobile Sales Operations, Regional Sales Operations (Japan), in
2003.
In 2005, Mr. Nishimae was appointed as Operating Officer of Honda Motor
Co. Ltd.
In 2007, Mr. Nishimae added the portfolio of General Manager, ASIMO
Business Office.
