Vancouver (British Columbia) – Volkswagen Canada is showing consumers they don’t need to make compromises when choosing to buy a green car. Volkswagen’s new low emission TDI Clean Diesel Jetta is high on performance, style, functionality and affordably priced.
The TDI Clean Diesel engine is designed to run on today’s low sulphur diesel which means great fuel economy and less emissions produced per km travelled. The engine is also designed for bio-diesel, an even “cleaner” fuel that will be regulated in BC as of 2010. (Currently bio-diesel is available a 6 pumps in the lower mainland)
The TDI (turbo direct injection) already has a loyal fan base because of its zippiness and oomph and the new TDI Clean Diesel engine delivers even more power. This will surely cause both loyal fans and newbie conscious consumers alike to pay attention, as being green has never been so “gutsy”.
Volkswagen’s vision is to ensure unrestrained mobility for future generations through economically and ecologically sustainable solutions. As one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, Volkswagen takes responsibility for developing cars which are ecologically sound. At the heart of innovation is the development of highly efficient drive trains, and the exploration of alternative fuels that use diverse energy sources and, in particular, CO2-neutral biomass. This will ensure proactive climate protection and conserve limited resources.
Founded in 1952, Volkswagen Canada is headquartered in Ajax, Ontario. It is a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany.
